Frequently asked questions

How do I make an invoice for free?

Fill in your business and client details, add each product or service as a line item, choose payment terms such as Net 30, and click Download PDF / Print. There's no account, watermark or limit.

How do I save my invoice as a PDF?

Click Download PDF / Print, then pick Save as PDF (or Microsoft Print to PDF) as the printer. On iPhone, use the share button in the print preview to save to Files.

Should I charge sales tax on my invoice?

It depends on your state and on what you sell. Many states tax physical goods but not most services. Enter the rate in the Sales tax field if you collect it; the sales tax calculator lists every state's rate.

What does Net 30 mean on an invoice?

Net 30 means the full amount is due 30 days after the invoice date. Choose a term in the Payment terms box and the due date fills in for you. Read more in our Net 30 guide.

Is my invoice data private?

Yes. The invoice is built entirely in your browser and never sent to a server. Only your business name, address and currency are remembered on your own device so you don't retype them.

Can I add my logo?

Yes. Upload a PNG or JPG logo above the form. It appears at the top right of the invoice and is stored only in this browser.
